Restore Point License
Version 1, 29 October 2026

Copyright (c) 2026 Philipp Goetz. All rights reserved.

This file states the only permissions granted for Restore Point ("the
Software"): its source code, its builds, its packages and its documentation.
Everything not permitted here stays with the copyright holder. These terms
may change in a later version; a Release stays under the terms shipped
inside it.

1. Releases and development builds

A "Release" is a build of the Software whose manifest version has exactly
three numbers (major.minor.patch) and that the copyright holder published at
https://guardian.nestharion.de/: the top-level module.json there or a
v<version>/ folder there.

A "Development build" is every other form of the Software: builds published
under https://guardian.nestharion.de/development/ or carrying a fourth
version number, the source code in the repository, local builds and
packages, and any copy made from any of them.

2. Releases: a limited grant

If you obtained a Release from the address above, you may install it,
unmodified, on Foundry Virtual Tabletop servers that you operate or that are
operated for you, and use it there to back up, inspect and restore documents
of your own game worlds. You may keep copies for that purpose, including
inside your own Foundry world backups.

You may not distribute, publish, sell, rent, lend or sublicense the Software
or any part of it; modify it or make derivative works from it; offer it to
others as part of a hosting plan, a service or a product; or remove this
license or the copyright notice from it. Pointing others to
https://guardian.nestharion.de/ is welcome.

3. Development builds: no permission

No permission of any kind is granted for Development builds or for the
source code. Only the copyright holder, and people the copyright holder has
named in writing for a stated purpose, may install, run, copy, modify or
distribute them. That the repository or the development address can be
reached is not such a permission.

4. Your data

Backup files, exports and everything else the Software writes about your
game world are yours; nothing here restricts them, and the copyright holder
gets no rights to your game content. You may keep, move and read them after
this grant ends.

5. Termination

The grant in section 2 ends automatically if you break these terms. After it
ends you must stop using the Software and delete your copies of it; your
backup files stay yours. The copyright holder may stop offering Releases at
any time; a Release you already installed stays usable under these terms.

6. No warranty, no liability

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE
COPYRIGHT HOLDER BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER
IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN
CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.
Where the law does not allow such an exclusion, liability is limited to what
that law requires. The Software is in development: keep making Foundry world
backups.

7. Trademarks

Foundry Virtual Tabletop is a trademark of Foundry Gaming, LLC. Restore Point
is an unofficial community module; it is not made, endorsed or checked by
Foundry Gaming, LLC. No trademark rights are granted.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany,
excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International
Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection
rules of the country where you live still apply. If a provision of these
terms is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
